Cabins & supervision

  • Campers stay in rustic cabins, platform tents, or yurts, grouped by age and gender identity.
  • Typical group size: 6–10 campers with two trained counselors per cabin.
  • Leadership programs may operate at different ratios (see FAQs).

Rustic comfort & readiness

Camp life includes uneven terrain, insects/animals, and energetic group settings (e.g., dining hall). Campers should be comfortable in a rustic environment and able to manage hygiene independently (bathing, bathroom, changing). See Camper Eligibility in FAQs.

  • Balanced meals are served family-style in the dining hall.
  • Campers rotate as Hoppers (set-up/clean-up helpers), building responsibility and community.
  • Dietary needs are accommodated with advance notice.

Camp Trading Post

(On-Site Store)

CJ gear (tees, sweatshirts, bottles, stickers, hats, mugs, flashlights) + limited snacks (daily snack limits apply). Recommended deposit: $40–$60 per week (loaded via Camp InTouch; refunds issued in fall for balances $10+). No cash with campers, please.

(Tip: if funding multiple siblings back-to-back, vary the amounts slightly to avoid duplicate-charge declines.)

Tech-free Policy

Camp Jorn is a tech-free camp, and all electronic devices—including cell phones, tablets, and smartwatches—must be left at home so campers can fully connect with nature, friends, and themselves.
